Quality Manager - Asia buy in US, Free Classifieds Ads

Position Summary
This position reports to our Global Director of Quality and has direct responsibilities overseeing approximately 20 employees located in Taiwan and China. The ideal candidate possesses experience doing business in Asia for a Western company. He/she has experience implementing change through a contract supply base. They will have a demonstrated history of setting strategies with proven, positive results, prior experience leading cross-functional quality initiatives, and the proven ability to attract, develop, and retain a high performing team.
Primary Responsibilities
Process owner for quality operations occurring in Asia for all in-country contract suppliers
Develop and monitor key performance measures for suppliers, product, and employees to drive Trek quality to world-class levels
Develop and implement effective long-term strategies for the department supporting overall Trek strategic initiatives and to ensure our internal and external customers are successful
Develop and implement a supplier development training program
Support Trek Production Part Approval Process activities with suppliers
Manage supplier audit program including corporate social responsibility, product compliance, and supplier quality systems
Create mutually beneficial supplier relationships to effectively drive improves in quality
Perform and implement effective root cause identification & corrective actions as required
Develop, improve, and stabilize global Trek quality standards (Cosmetics / Appearance, Gauging, etc)
Work effectively with Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and other applicable departments to drive process and product improvement
Develop fiscal budgets and ensure effective management within budgetary guidelines
Provide consistent communications and performance reporting for management and stakeholders
Approach all elements of the Quality Management System with a philosophy of Continuous Improvement
Recruit, hire, and develop personnel to enhance the Quality team's capabilities
Training:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Operations or a business-related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality management
Six Sigma Blackbelt beneficial
Key Attributes and Skills
Superior knowledge of quality tools including
PPAP tools (FMEA, control plans, gauge R&R)
Pareto diagrams, histograms, and other analysis tools
CAPA, 8D, DMAIC
SPC and process capability
Cause and effect diagram
ISO9001
GD&T and reading engineering drawings
Design of experiments
Six Sigma and Lean/Continuous improvement initiatives
Influencing in Mandarin highly valued
Ability and willingness to travel on an international basis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
Ability to act independently to solve complex problems
Proficient mechanical aptitude
Excellent planning and organization skills
Manage multiple projects at the same time, prioritize, and possess a sense of urgency
Ability to effectively coach, motivate, counsel and discipline employees with support of his/her manager
Driven, dynamic leader who takes initiative and drives accountability
Excellent interpersonal skills essential
Ability to see the big picture and act in a global environment
Professional attitude, image, demeanor. Maintain confidentiality
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and Minitab
